Cryogenic Electron Microscopy Platform

The Cryo-EM Platform of Peking University (Cryo-EM Core Facility of the School of Life Sciences) is a double first-class key construction project of PKU and was officially launched in 2018. Its objective is to build a world-class scientific research platform, providing state-of-the-art instruments and expertise for single particle analysis (SPA), Cryo-ET, micro-ED, etc. for life sciences and related disciplines, promoting deep cross-integration of disciplines.

The platform has a full set of cryo-EM and related equipment, including a 300 kV Cryo-TEM Titan Krios G3 equipped with a BioQuatum K3 Camera, a 200 kV Cryo-TEM Talos Arctica equipped with a K2 Camera, a Cryo-FIB Aquilos 2, a Cryo-CLEM, and supporting sample preparation equipment such as the electron beam and magnetron sputtering coater Leica ACE600, plunge freezing vitrobot Mark IV & EMGP, high pressure freezing ICE, etc.

The platform adheres to the concept of ‘innovation & service’, supporting over 100 high-level results, including 16 papers in Science, Nature, and Cell, and three national invention patents.
